Can an african grey eat chestnuts?

I read that the branches of a chestnut tree are harmful to use as perches. Does that also include the nuts?

Can an african grey eat chestnuts?
No. Chestnuts are a good lowfat treat. Good job on being cautious though!

Reply:the things to avoid with all hookbills are salt chocolate sugar caffeine and alcohol. a tiny bit wont kill but anything in excess will kill but avoid these things all together. they are toxic birds. amazingly similar to humans.
Reply:I just started a forum for people just like you with questions about their birds/parrots. If you want to, and learn more about your bird than stop on by and give us a look. It is free. I have owned parrots for years and think that people should just be educated and ask others that have owned them for years any questions that they may have. Here is the site
