i think they are kind of gross personally.

Have you ever actually had roasted chestnuts?
Yes...my grandparents made them on Thanksgiving and Christmas when I was a kid 50 years ago. I ate them and when I see them sold on the streets of NYC it reminds me of those times....
Reply:They're not for everybody plus they take some time to prepare. You have to put a cross on the flat side of each one, then broil, and you have to keep an eye on them as they burn easily... Report It

Reply:No, but I've had microwaved chestnuts. Cut a hole in each side and nuke for 45 sec.

Reply:I really like them! I've had a few gross ones, that were over ripe, but really, nothing says Christmas time like roasted chestnuts.
Reply:yeah I tried some at the Christmas Market in Berlin when I was an exchange student there. I was not a big fan. Had some good Gluhwein though.
