No. A conker is a Horse Chestnut, and not edible.
Chestnuts are the ones they roast at Christmas.
Is a conker the same as a chestnut?
A conker is the same as a horse chestnut, rather than the eating chest nuts. I saw one other answer saying you couldn't eat conkers. Actually you can eat them but they are so bitter you wouldn't really want to.
Reply:a conker is an horse chesnut whitch comes from the horse chesnut tree but before your tummy starts to rummble do not eat them as they are not edable and probably make you fee ill
Reply:yes
Reply:No because conkers grow on oak trees and chestnuts grow on chestnut trees!
Reply:i always thought they were but according to your answers they are not so i must have been mistaken.
Reply:it's the same as a horse chestnut not a sweet chestnut
Reply:I do not know but I think chestnuts are small breasts on a woman (like Mrs Everet two doors down from us) while a conker is poor spelling for William the Conker.
Well thats my attempt at improvisation in face of acute ignorance on the matter.
Reply:no they are horse chestnuts and they are not edible and in fact poisonous, you need chestnuts fromthe European Chestnut tree to eat, to distinguish the difference horse chestnuts (conkers) are basically round where as the edible chestnuts have a definate point to their shape
Reply:No conkers cannot be eaten
Reply:I believe so.
I know they hurt if you get coked with one.
LOL
Reply:no conkers come from the horse chestnut tree and you really shouldn't eat them, whereas chestnuts come from sweet chestnut trees.
