What is the best way you have found?
How do you efficiently deshell or unshell a chestnut?
Well, peeling chestnuts is one of those annoying kitchen jobs so there isn't really an efficient way!! The key point to make things easier is to peel them whilst hot, the shells are much more pliable. You can roast or blanch them, but cut a cross slit into them first for ease of peeling later. Remove them from the heat source in small batches so they stay hot. A tip is to roast them on a bed of salt to draw out excess water. If blanching you lose out on that roasted flavour, but they're a bit easier to peel, you can fry them in butter once shelled to get a similar effect.
