Chestnut Roasting?

Any advice on how best to roast chestnuts - in the oven???



And is it bad to eat them raw (any bad experiences you've heard of?) Because they are so tasty raw!!! But I don't want to eat any more, for fear of some revengeful backlash... :)

Never heard of eating them raw but you can do them in the oven or over an open fire just like in the song. Make sure you take a sharp knife and put a deep cross score on each so that the steam buildup doesn't cause them to explode.
Reply:Ive heard you can really sick(tummy and out) from eating them raw. Wouldnt push it if I were you.
