If I can find them at the local grocery store.. where would they be roughly? in the vegatable isle..? Are they bagged or what?
What do I look for?
Thank you
Where can water chestnuts be bought?
with the canned veggies. usually they are in alphabetical order. also look in the asian section. they'll definitely be there!
Reply:the international section or with canned vegetables
Reply:Great question!!! I've been wondering the same thing!!!
Reply:Look in the ethnic aisle by oriental foods. If not try the produce dept.
Reply:they're in a canned where the canned veggies are.
Reply:You can buy canned ones at just about any grocery store. If they have a section with Chinese food, look there.
You can get fresh ones at a Chinese store. They are hard to peel, though.
Reply:Water chestnuts are normally sold in cans, either whole or sliced. They will be with the canned Chinese food such as bean sprouts and usually near the rice in many stores.

Reply:The come tinned (canned) and are usually found near the Asian foods or "exotic" foods.
Reply:Water chestnuts are canned. You could probably find them in the “Ethnic Foods” section of your supermarket. If your supermarket doesn’t have this section, you may have to go to an Oriental grocery store or a supermarket in or near a “Chinatown” close to where you live.
You can also get this and many other ethnic foods on-line.
I wish you well!

Reply:You can find them in the "ethnic" food aisle in the grocery store. Be sure to get the sliced chestnuts, whole ones are fine too but you will end up slicing them anyway and they are hard to slice.
