Will blight resistant American Hybrid Chestnuts be available soon?

I thought that I've heard that recently it was discovered a native stand of American Chestnut (Castanea dentata) that was not affected by the blight. I think I heard this story in early summer. It made me very excited.

However, we're looking at years of trials to check their actual resistance to the disease, selections for shape, bloom and crop production. Then years to grow crops of trees for distribution (the earliest releases being very expensive and as more trees come to market, the price goes down). My guess is 5-8 years for the earliest trees, more likely 10-15 years.

Be hopeful-
