Do horse chestnuts (conkers) really keep spiders away?

i heard that if you put them along your skirting board and behind TVs, chairs and appliances you wont get any spiders!!

Do horse chestnuts (conkers) really keep spiders away?
don't know i have never heard of that but i cant see how ... :)

Reply:NO.Nothing keeps them away!!!
Reply:I don't know but I am going to try it. We have brown recluse spiders everywhere here. The can cause some nasty bites that can destroy skin and bone and even cause death. They are small and hard to detect. People here get bit all the time and instead of going to the emergency room at the hospital you can go to the fire station closest to you and they'll give you a anit venom shot.

I'm going to the market to get some today and put them around just to see if it works.
